“StoryVille”
The Entertainment and Wisdom of Storytelling
at Shumei International Institute in Crestone Saturday January 22 at 7:00 pm
Matinee on Sunday January 23 at 3:00 pm.
StoryVille brings live entertainment and the wisdom of storytelling from the Company of Players. These neighbors, friends, fathers, mothers; all Crestone community members; will present their original pieces as performance art. They have transformed their written pieces under the skillful direction of theatre professional Richard Collier. Produced by AmmiLama Productions this is their second event at Shumei.
“Everyone who listens to our stories will see parts of themselves in the story and storyteller”, says StoryVille producer Ammi Kohn. “Stories are as ancient as the small clans of early man, huddled around the night fire in a cave, telling stories to ward off fears, pass the time, entertain, share experiences, and transmit the wisdom of the clan. As we do today around a drumming circle and a campfire.”
“OLD” presented by Marv Mattis, 5- year -old –avatars told by Kelly Delamor, a wild snowboarding experience shared by Matthew Crowley, and the guilt of the rabbi’s son – Ammi Kohn are some of the subjecrs this talented band will stage. Folk singer Akemi Iwase will be sharing her storytelling and musical gifts in both English and Japanese. Don’t miss this LIVE EVENT. Join with your friends and neighbors to laugh, cry and just be entertained.
