James Joseph Roderick featured artist in July at Shumei International;
Symposium July 17th

James, also known as “Jimmy” will
be speaking on Sunday July 17th starting a 3pm. A reception will
follow.
James started painting during is childhood in an artist colony of
Provincetown, Cape Cod in the fifties. Later he attended the Art
Institute of Boston in the early seventies and by the late nineties he
had relocated in the Southwest where his work turned a focus towards
the Goddess. Captivated by the Virgin of Guadalupe, she appears in
many of his multi media works.
James has lived in Crestone for fifteen years and experiences a deep
connection to this valley. He felt drawn to live here in the majestic
mountains he feels parallel the power of the ocean. This valley
inspires the Guadalupe images in so many of this works, “you can
almost hear her when you walk the land out here.” James is a founding
member of The Crestone Artisans Gallery and is included in private
collections in Cape Cod, New York, San Francisco, Mexico City and
Colorado.
Come meet James and learn more about him and his art on Sunday July
