Chuck Pyle

"The Zen Cowboy"

Chuck Pyle, the “Zen Cowboy” at Shumei Friday August 27th Shumei International, in collaboration with the Hazlerig Music House, is happy to have Chuck Pyle, the “Zen Cowboy” perform at Shumei on Friday August 27th at 7pm.

His music - part cowboy, part new age - reflects a mystical connection to the landscape of the American West. Admired as a sly humorist and an innovative guitarist, Chuck Pyle sees what's best about America, writing songs about love lost & love found, forgetful cowboys, and heroic highway patrolmen. Chuck Pyle has won high praise from both fans and peers alike throughout an inspired performance career of over 40 years. When first given the "Zen Cowboy" title, he decided to, "Always ride the horse in the direction it's going," and took the nickname to heart, shaving his head and blending his upbeat perspective with old-fashioned horse sense.

A nimble guitarist, critics say his sense of rhythm is more like a fine classical, or jazz, his songwriting sophisticated yet full of uncluttered space. Since writing the theme-song for a PBS series called Spirit of Colorado, he's attained local fame, and even sings for the opening session of the Colorado State Legislature.

Come see Chuck Pyle perform at Shumei on Friday August 27th at 7pm. Tickets are a $10 suggested donation at the door and all proceeds benefit the artist. Weather and bugs permitting we could be in the outdoor amphitheater, however a comfortable indoor option is also available.
