On Saturday, August 15th Chris and Andrea Long of Great Mystery Alliance will be performing traditional sweat lodge songs as well as other ancient spiritual chants in the Lakota language. All of these songs can be heard in sweat lodges although some pertain more to Yuwipi/Lowampi and Sundance. A number of these songs are among some of the oldest human vocables known, and will not be singing anything out of context. To hear these songs sung traditionally and blended in the unity of male and female voice is truly a rare treat. Allow yourself to be moved by this heart opening, spiritual experience. Chris and Andrea will touch on various Indigenous practices and the common themes that pervade all Native American paths. This all includes a discussion about coming into alignment with the earth, our relationship with spirits and nature, and how we can change our lives to positively affect future generations. This is a wonderful introduction to what Great Mystery Alliance has to offer.
Chris and Andrea Long are available to facilitate sweat lodges and other Ceremonials throughout America. They have been based out of Crestone since 94' and strive to practice and preserve their Sacred Native Heritage. They function as a church and offer all of the services implied and are eager to teach everything that they know. Donations are very much appreciated and are used to further their work in sharing these ritual songs and traditions.
