Kailin Yong was born and raised in the metropolitan equatorial island state of Singapore. The Kailin Yong Peace Project was formed in conjunction with the release of his solo CD, "Bowing With The Flow”. Kailin’s music explores the commonalities found in Chinese folk melodies; Baiao from Northeastern Brazil (or bossa nova and samba from Rio); the laz of the Turkish gypsy; to Argentine tangos to Arabic and Sufi microtonal mystique; American roots, blues, rock and funk and jazz ballads; Parisian waltz; Indian ragas, and the joyous cacophony of modern and Avant Garde jazz.

Electric bassist Matt Skellenger style combines forward thinking creativity, progressive techniques, and natural musicality. Skellenger displays a uniquely identifiable sound. The versatility of his playing can be heard on music ranging from solo bass, jazz sextet and modern rock power trio to folk, Americana, funk and pop groups. In January 2009 he released his second album “Parentheticals” on the Syncopated Energy label. In addition to leading his own quartet, Skellenger is currently a member of Ron Miles' Blossom Band, Katalyst, and The Lovely and Talented.

Andy Skellenger is a multi-percussionist specializing in the beautiful and rare art of Tabla Lahara, or solo tabla performance. He regularly performs in many different ensembles including the Kailin Yong Peace Project, the Matt Skellenger Quartet, and many others from country/rock bands to Indian Classical music duos. He will be playing tabla, cajon, udu, and other percussion.

This concert marks the first time these three musicians have collaborated as a trio. It promises to be an inspiring and eclectic exploration of music and improvisation by three young virtuoso musicians.
