Special Sampai Prayer for World Peace
Every year, the Saturday of the Shumei International Institute’s anniversary is dedicated to world citizenship and world peace. Saturday evening May 16th at 6:00 PM Mountain Standard Time, a special Sampai for world peace, lead by President Koyama was held. Shumei members from around the world—from Japan, Hong Kong, Europe, Brazil, and in the United States, from California to New York—participate simultaneously with us during the Sampai. Before the ceremony begins all are invited to partake in a moment of silent meditation on world peace to prepare for the ceremony. During the ceremony we join our intentions with those of our friends around the world. Peace begins and ends in each of our hearts.
