Global Music and Irish brogue with Four Shillings Short June 23rd at Shumei
Four Shillings Short, will perform a fantastic array of instruments from around the world at Shumei International on Wed. June 23rd at 7pm.
Celebrating their 15th year together, this World/Folk/Celtic music duo will share a list of instruments which includes North Indian Sitar, Hammered Dulcimer, Mandolins, Banjo, Whistles, Recorders, Medieval and Renaissance Woodwinds, Charango, Bowed Psaltery, Guitar, and even a Krumhorn.
The husband/wife duo of Aodh Og O’Tuama from Cork, Ireland and Christy Martin from California, tour in the US and Ireland, live as the bardic minstrels of old bringing their one-of-a-kind eclectic blend of world music around the country since 1995.
Spectators have described the duo as charismatic, with a great stage presence. In one show you’ll hear songs that span cultures and centuries, which makes for a riveting complex sound. Space is limited for this show, so come early for Irish humor and instruments from around the globe! This concert is brought to you as a result of the collaboration between Shumei International Institute and the Hazlrig Music House.
